A 6-month-old baby was illegally taken from a foster care agency in the Bronx by her mother Wednesday, police said.
The mom, whose name was not immediately known, had gone to the New York Foundling Community Services office on Brown Plc. near Brook Ave. in Mott Haven just after noon to visit her infant daughter.
She then simply walked out of the building with the baby and vanished.
She did not have permission to take the baby, police said.
A search for her and the infant is underway, they added.
