Two Upper West Side residents have told police they were robbed of a backpack containing three Cartier bracelets worth $8,000 apiece and other valuables in Central Park Thursday night, police said.
The two men, ages 25 and 26, went to their nearby home after the robbery and called 911 around 11:30 p.m., saying they had been robbed near West Drive and W. 77th St. about two hours earlier.
They told cops that three teenagers walked up to them and demanded a backpack being carried by the 25-year-old. The robbers did not brandish any weapons.
After the victims handed the backpack over, the robbers fled. No one was injured.
Along with the bracelets, they said the backpack contained an iPhone, a set of red-and-black Beats By Dre headphones, a Bose speaker, $400 in cash and a U.S. passport, police said.
As cops interviewed the victims about the contents of the backpack, one of them got irritated and declared that he didn’t want to give any more information, sources said.
