Ithaca College student fatally stabbed during Cornell fight


An Ithaca College student was fatally stabbed after a large fight on the Cornell campus early Sunday morning, police said.

The male student died
at a hospital from stab wounds sustained in the fight, according to Ithaca.com. Another male student was treated for stab wounds and released, the school said.

Police said a fight broke out in the front of a chemical engineering building around 1:57 a.m. Officers arrived to find the two victims stabbed.

Neither student has been identified.

“I hope you will hold these students — along with their families, friends, classmates, and professors — in your thoughts and prayers at this difficult and tragic time,” Ithaca College President Tom Rochon said in a statement.

Police have not released details about the fight or specified the weapon used in the stabbing. There have been no arrests.
