Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson named highest-paid actor

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson's bank account is solid as a rock — offering a crystal-clear glimpse at the gender wage gap in Hollywood.

The "Fast & Furious" star was named Forbes' highest-paid actor after taking home a whopping $64.5 million between June 2015 and June 2016.


That's nearly $20 million more than the $46 million that Jennifer Lawrence, the planet's top-earning actress, pocketed over the same stretch.

In fact, Lawrence, who has topped the best-paid actresses list two years in a row, wouldn't have even placed in the top five among actors. She would've slid into sixth, between Johnny Depp's $48 million and Ben Affleck's $43 million.
The Rock, who also starred in "San Andreas" last year, barely edged out runner-up Jackie Chan, who collected $61 million over the 12-month stretch. Matt Damon, meanwhile, came in third at $55 million.
