Lady Gaga to headline Super Bowl halftime show

The NFL just scored one of pop music's biggest acts to perform at this season's Super Bowl.

Lady Gaga is officially signed on to headline the halftime show at February's NFL title game in Houston, Us Weekly reports, citing a source.

Multiple outlets, including Billboard, reported last week that the 30-year-old Gaga was in talks to join the halftime festivities at the big game.

Gaga sang the national anthem before last season's Super Bowl, while Coldplay, Beyoncé and Bruno Mars took the stage during halftime.

The NFL later issued a statement saying she was never officially offered the gig.
The Super Bowl is almost always the most-viewed TV event of the year, and the halftime show often draws more spectators than even the game itself.

Gaga's reported addition comes a little over a month before she releases her highly anticipated new album "Joanne," which is due out on Oct. 21.

Super Bowl 51 will be played on Feb. 5.
